Amplifying health & social impact
Christine Demmelmaier, MPH
I’m a purpose-driven communications consultant with extensive experience in the nonprofit and private sectors.
I partner with mission-based organizations to develop communications strategies, tell stories of impact, build donor support, and advocate for a better world.
"Christine's recommended key messages and rewrites of our community health worker tools were on point. I gained valuable insights from her on how to communicate nutrition research effectively.”
Nutrition Researcher Client
"Christine has created superb content for our global mental health & arts publication and social media channels. She is highly skilled at developing compelling advocacy messages, shining a light on complex social issues, and interpreting scientific research for our audiences. She got up to speed quickly on our voice and vision, always offering valuable strategic guidance. I highly recommend working with her.”

Portfolio
I wrote and produced this brochure for a leading international NGO’s advocacy campaign. The brochure reached policymakers around the world, encouraging them to increase support for strong vaccine supply chains. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services used content, including recommendations, from the brochure for a global immunization report.
This article highlights evidence on art-based interventions to boost maternal mental health, an overlooked issue. I wrote this piece for Simuka Africa, a United Nations-affiliated organization, to help secure funding for their unique, global mental health and arts initiative.
I managed all aspects of website production for a client starting up a global nutrition research program. I wrote all of the original content, oversaw the web vendor selection process, and coordinated development for this site.
This story took me to rural Lesotho, where I met Mamorena, a community health worker, and her thriving baby boy. Donors have selected several of my success stories to appear in U.S. government strategies and reports to Congress.
This product was one of several final country reports that I developed for a large, global health finance and governance program. For each report, I collaborated with the client’s team, including health economists and country experts, to gather data and stories and create the reports.
I wrote this article because I was inspired by the subject, an artist who survived abuse and became a powerful advocate for the rights of women and girls worldwide. The article aimed to increase visibility for her artwork.
